Custom Boost Guage
Thanks for all the comments!
I appreciate it. I have a few other plans for it as well because because the PIC can be programmed to do a lot. For now I'm keeping it simple - boost, vac, and max boost. The good old K.I.S.S.
The display looks good in the light and I think with the location that it'll be in, it'll have a bit of a "visor" to aid in the readability of it. Of course that'll have to be determined when installed, like I said, with in the next week or two hopefully.
The project has taken me about 2-3 months from design concept to circuit board to programming and testing. This is asside from my regular job. I've worked with the PIC quite a bit when I was working on my engineering degree, so the time frame was faster than had expected. Oh....and the GF needs some time also.
As for mass producing, this might be an option and has been thought of. I want to test the design out some more to see if any bugs or issues arrise (which haven't yet) to make sure a good product will be enginnered and not just half-a$$ed. So for the shipping question...it just might be a bit yet. Sorry. I'm shooting for something different here and i think it's worked good so far.
Hopefully I'll be able to take some in car pics with a "good" camera and post them soon.
OH...and xmaciek82x, the reason they didn't teach you that in your engineering classes was because you didn't go to SDSM&T!

I love the fact that it does more than just show a number.
I'm toying with getting the digital gauges from DynoTune....

...but they only show the current value of the thing they are reading.

You have a diamond mind in your hands, bro.
I think after it's completed, you should test it against a Defi and/or Zietronix to see how accurate it is.
I think this can make you a lot of money if you mass produce it. Not just to the Evo folks, perhaps to the Subies and others as well.
