cnc motorsports says MBC not compatible with IX

i called and asked if they can do a Manual Boost Controller install on my 06 gsr evo, and he asked the tech there and gave me a response that only EBCs are compatible not MBC is this true? if so im going to have to return this greddy mbc

Uh-oh. Someone better tell all the guys running MBC's on their IX's that they aren't actually working.

You mean the hundreds of people running MBC's are wrong and the people at CNC MS are right? Oh no...you'd better let everyone know before their cars blow up from the MBC!

I have been running a manual boost controller since December of 2005 with no problems. CNC is wrong.

ah okay, I figured that i called gt motorsports they said the only reason why they would say something like that is because they do not want to be liable for me overboosting the car and going back to them asking them to gimme a couple of g's to replace engine

yeah I figured, I remember seeing a greddy boost controller there, and their business is horrible.

I didnt understand why they said that after reading these forums hundreds of times Im like wtf, is there something im really missing here


where can I get vacuum caps to cap off vacuum lines?

he's right....


mine worked horribly well lol.... so horribly well that i saved 400$ by getting a forge mbc instead of a ebc....


but just recently i decieded to go with a greddy ebc... they really are more convient.. once ya have it set up, its the best thing i have on my car.

where did you learn to install your mbc? do all installation guides can be used for any type of MBC?

theres a couple of how to's in the how to forum just check there....fyi theres two types of ways to install a mbc, I used the bov to "T" off of and I think you can use the stock turbo nipple

i perfer using the stock turbo nipple and the wastegate nipple...


basically take off the airbox.. few screws... take off the fan, 2 screws. and its right there... get about 8 feet of vacuum hose and tie them up... its easier to do than explain lol

i'd say go with either the hallman or forge. i went with the forge, didn't have a problem with it.
