got tuned today...

well today my car went in for tuning of the ECU and the dyno.

i went to TopSpeed in Alpharetta, GA and Doug was the tuner. they use a dynojet.

here is a list of the current "power" mods on my 2005 EVO:
EVO IX metal BOV
AEM intake pipe
Vibrant Filter and MAF adaptor
HPF LICP
HPF UICP
HPF FMIC
Authority 3" catback
UR test pipe
Walboro fuel pump
Hallman MBC
Brian Crower 272/272 cams set to 0,0

and STOCK downpipe....dont ask why...

baseline run i believe was at 298...

before i get to final run let me talk about MBC's for a minute. the first few runs i was using my JoeP MBC. this MBC spikes a lot. it was set at 17 psi after spiking to 23 or 24 psi. i think you can see how this is a problem. the best doug could get for me was 325 whp. luckily, they had one last Hallman MBC in stock. put that on and the next run was 336 whp at 18 or 19 psi after a 20 to 21 psi spike.

and after a few more runs, doug pulled a 340 whp run with 328 wtq.

i would have like to hit 350 but i guess not without a 3" DP.

but overall i am VERY PLEASED with the results.

nice numbers but why on earth the stock DP still. if you nabbed 340 id be willing to bet that DP is the difference between that and your desired 350......

So, I am guessing that you solved the problems you were having yesterday.

yeah its fixed...

as for the DP...my Turbo XS DP was leaking and instead of the hassle of trying to fix a ****ty DP, i just put the old stock one back on. but yes i agree with you, i do believe that DP is the key to my 350 mark, or atleast bringing me closer

Good to hear. Good luck with the 350. You should be able to another 25-35whp with a DP, ported Mani, and O2 housing.

nice #'s, btw do you guys think there is a big difference between a 2'75 dp and a 3" dp, because I have a HKS 2'75 dp and a 3" TBE and dont know if replace my dp for a 3" or leave the HKS. do you think it matters?

ROFL!!!! joeP FTW!!!!!!!!
awesome. i havent heard about joe P in the longest time. used to chat with him a lot 3 years ago.
had his MBC and FPR on my mazda

cant believe people still use his stuff.

to stop spiking all u have to do is drill the bleeder hole out another 0.5mm. that's it. it's a perfectly fine MBC for $20. used it on my mazda for 2 years
