I have some spray painted logo on my IC and I really want to get it off. Is there any way that I can get rid of it without damaging the intercooler with other chemicals or adding more spray paint? Thanks in advance guys.

Acetone or a good paint thinner should work but i'd dab it on a rag and rub gently

 

shouldnt just use it sparingly

i say rub gently so you don't bend fins.

/hijack thread, Are the Evo intercooler's tube and fin or bar and plate?

 

I used an enamel thinner and it worked wondefully.

 

Factory is tube and fin.

 

I'd be wary of possibly rubbing any special coating it might have, but otherwise thinner would work.

If you want something to do the same, but be slightly softer, some "Reducer" would work as well.

 

ehh... i would just leave it....

cause your gonna bend at least a few fins... then your gonna regret it...

seems liek too much work not to mess up

I don't see how anything could really damage it except for your hand really. I would just make sure you dont touch the intercooler at all since the fins bend easily.
