Just saw STi in person (Pics and video)
Just saw STi in person (Pics and video)
Just went ot a Subaru dealer with a friend to look at the STi. Overall, the car looks "OK". Gauges are awesome. Seats are average. Wing is "Butt" ugly. Hood scoop is "Massive". Engine bay was a bit over crowded in terms of future expansion. I have pics posted on my website under the gallery section. While leaving the dealer I ran into a guy who just purchased one as well. Looks like a regular WRX on the road. I have a video posted on the site of the car.

What do you mean it looks like a regular WRX? Did he take the wing off? I'd like to hear your opinion or maybe see pics if you have any, since which ever I choose (Evo/STi) the first thing I will do it remove the wing. Thanks.

I'm going to check it out and I think it could be a good way for Chicago area EVO owners to meet up and represent.
Just an idea.

I just can't get over how ugly the STI is. That wing looks like garbage, the blue with the gold rims is hideous, and to top it all off, pink letters! The car is just flaming in my opinion. I kind of like the hood scoop though.
i saw the sti like 3 days ago. to me, the STI looks way better in person than in magazines and pictures. it looks more compact and sporty in real life than the pictures
- the interior is garbage - all it is is flashy with some bright colors but - front seats are unsuportive, shifter feels like its gonna break in ur hand, blue material everywhere looks cheap like shirt material, backseat looks like a big blue bench. over all it looks good and looks sporty, but is infact un suportive and i guess good for an everyday driven type seat. the evo is more sport oriented interior and feel.
- exterior paint is really nice, the black is incredible with the huge gold flakes in the paint. wheels and overall appearance look real nice to me, evertying flows better than how presented in magazines. the proportions in real life arent as bad as they seem in the magazines.
-over all, without having driven one - it looks like a fixed up wrx - doesnt have the "MEAN" look of a car that would hang with z06's and porsches. although it is significantly different than the wrx, its still not THAT different. interior is inviting, then turns you away as you think "oooh, super suportive seats are not really suportive, just very blue" to me, the biggest problem i have with the car is that with all these electronics that it comes with, our electronic free us spec evo8 is beating it up handling wise. thats VERY discouraging.

Apples to oranges here really...That said imo the Evo does have a more aggressive appearance than the STi, though I imagine I will still gawk the first time I see the Subaru on the street.
