Went to the track today

Well, this will be the last time I hit the track until I get my 1-2 shift resolved. I made 4 passes. Missed the 1-2 shift on the first 3. Tried shifting earlier on the 4th pass and bogged below the power band. I paid particular attention to the 1-2 shift because of the problems I had before. zx6r went with me and he doesn't seem to have any issues hitting 2nd gear so I'm wondering if my gearbox is just a bit more notchy or something. It shifts perfectly fine under normal driving. But when launching and under load it doesn't want to go in. Could it be the clutch? Not disengaging fast enough to allow the gear to pop in? The clutch holds fine, no slipping, still working.

Anyhow, my best run of the day was a 13.712 @ 102.56 with a 1.882 60'

I'm posting this because I wanted to let everyone know that with my EBC added it made about a 3mph difference in trap speeds. That's pretty huge for only adding a few psi. If I didn't keep missing friggin 2nd gear I'm sure it would be even higher. I just think about how I'm coasting slower waiting to get into second. Already ate up a good portion of track. I bet my traps would be closer to 104mph with flawless shifting. Not to mention my times would be much lower. I'm very happy about this EBC. The Blitz SBC-iD is a great unit. Has a nice design and great features. Holds boost incredibly. I ran a couple of settings. With 20.4 psi I got a 102.51 trap speed. With 21 psi I got a 102.57 trap. I think I had a worse misshift then.

But my times don't matter. What matters is that the EBC added considerable speed to the car. My previous trap was like 99.8 or something like that. I don't remember.

Get that 1-2 shift dialed, I wantto know what time an EVO with 21psi runs a 1/4 mile. 13.7 is worse than most stock evos, when you get that shift down, let us know.

I know. With a 2.0 60' I ran a 13.8 stock with a slow 1-2 shift. I get 1.8 60' consistently now but can't make the shift to 2nd. I know I could get a 13.5 with a flawless run and a 1.8 60'. I think that will be average for most owners. A few have stronger Evo's than others. Running 104mph traps isn't normal so I hope people don't get that in their head. I think 100mph traps is more on average. I believe a 13.3 or better is possible with just the boost controller and flawless driving. I really feel the slow down when missing that shift. Not just the delay between getting it into 2nd after the miss but also the rpm drop and lag that follows trying to get back to speed. It's a huge difference.
