interest in evolution IX trunk decal

well we all know for those of us that want an evolution IX on our trunk, we have two options. one is in chrome and its the oem trunk badge. the other is in black but its a crappy ebay that is a pain to get on and make it look right. i PMed a vendor here about making a decal like the one in this link
http://www.machevo.com/evvide.html
but of course with an evolution IX instead of an VIII. im probably gonna get one in black as im going my RR in red and black. im sure he can cut different colors tho. i sent him the dimensions and he is gonna get back to me with pricing and everything. im sure he would like to know ahead of time if they would generate further interest on the site other than me.

I like it. I have the OEM Euro badge, though, and it looks way sano; totally OEM. No regrets.

oem is fine yeah and the silver one is nice. but i want a black evolution IX and the cheap crappy ebay one is my only option. i got it in the mail and immediately said "this is not going on my car." hopefully this one will come out decent quality and give us people who want black IX trunk emblems something to put on our *****.

Vinyl flat stickers look like cheap vinyl stickers.

If it doesn't have that depth of the OEM ones, it wouldn't get within yards of my car.

I hear ya. Can you paint the OEM one black? Seems like it might work with the right primer and paint.

Keep me posted on this. I was going to get them but I don't want silver/crhome what ever it is. I would like them in black like yourself.

That sticker off Mach V is just cheap looking, get the oem badge and you can paint it black, it looks great ive seen a few people on here with it like that.

all you have to do is paint it black. that's what i did and it came out fine. only thing that sucks is that i sold the carbon trunk it was mounted on, so now i have to paint another one to put on my new trunk. i'll post pics of my old one, and the new one when it's done

just as a note though, that mach V decal doesn't look that bad at all. it looks just like the OEM badge as far as the font/size and everything...but i'd still just go with painting the OEM badge black.

nice looking gg odub. care to give a little write up as to how you went about painting that oem badge. im assuming primer and paint??? anyway i had the mini mach v decals on the front of my last evo they looked really nice and were good quality. we will see how it turns out. if i have to drop the 80 for the oem and paint it so be it, as long as my ride is looking clean.

I debadged my except for the mitsu symbols on the front and rear. To me the car looks cleaner and is no longer a hassle with all the little areas of dirt around the letters.

not much to write up...i just sanded the chrome off, scuffed it up really. then went over it with rubbing alcohol to clean it off. then tack cloth. then i just sprayed it with a couple coats of Krylon indoor/outdoor flat black. no primer needed. i'm sure you could primer it if you wanted, but Krylon pretty much sticks to everything. i had the badge on the car for a few months. i washed it at least 15-20 times, no fading, chipping, cracking, nothing. that's pretty much what i'm gonna do with the new one.
