first Evo I seen in NYC ...

let me add more details to the incident.
the street was a 2 way street and have a total of 2 lanes each way (plus the lane where cars can park on) - so its a pretty wide street.
there is a point where the paint on the street (the double yellow lines) becomes wider so it makes the street into a one lane each way (its still the same wide street)
the reason that the city made it a one lane each way is because there is a dip and a rise (think of san francisco hills).
so we were cruising and about to enter the dip when this red evo ZOOMED passed us by (think about 40 mph and above). So the idiot passed us on the right - barely missing us, then he entered the dip.
as he exited the dip, his evo lifts off the ground, and when we landed, he swerves the car a little to the left, then to the right, then to the left, and thats when he spun once--- then another, then he struck the tree on the other side of the street...
the tree is broken in half, the evo sits on top of a split trunk...
luckily, there was no traffic, and the other side had no parked cars.
as we passed by on our wrx, i saw the 3 guys standing - the driver called the cops, the front passenger walks away to go to his job, and the back passenger approached me and said something like the following:
yo, did you see the prelude?
me: no.
a prelude came out of no where and we had to swerve out of the way.
yo, we almost had it didnt we?
me: not really
you know we almost had it. c'mon you know that was hot.
me: i feel bad for the car and the owner.

do i feel bad? no. the funny part is, the 2 passengers are laughing, and i know the driver is not laughing. and i know they known about that dip.
(sigh) is that how you handle your $30K car? i'm just pissed cuz they almost nicked us! if we were driving a little faster, or we was in the front, we would've gotten hit by them from the side or behind by some idiot that just because they have a rally car means that they are the best drivers...
one thing good thoough, i guess the evo's safety rating is pretty good!

damn that's f**ked up... I clicked on this post thinking that it may have been my EVO that you saw. I can't believe the passengers were laughing, I don't even know the driver of the car and I feel sorry for him.
