intercooler cover?

Does anyone know of anything that looks good to cover the intercooler and protect it but still looks decent? Something that will stop the rocks and road debris from damaging the intercooler?

Eric

Say what? That would completely negate the purpose of the FMIC, because it would block all the free-flowing air that hits it and makes it useful. There is already mesh up there to block large debris.

no, you would be robbing your self of big time power by doing that. I know of places that powder coat the endtanks and cores.

if you have the stocker... just buy the ebay one when its all beaten up... your not gonna lose power... granted you may not make as much as the 600-8004 ones... but your going to make a significant amount over the stocker for 150$

cant go wrong with 150

I think its cool, wouldn't do it myself. But if your that up tight when it comes to keeping a clean intercooler...BTW, I have the stuff from meguiers called Chrome Wheel Cleaner. That stuff is awesome. I sprayed some on my intercooler and let it sit for a while. Made the end tanks look brand new.

You don't make a significant amount of power over the stock FMIC while on the stock turbo even with a great FMIC, so I highly doubt he's going to do it with the EBay FMIC. It might work well as a direct replacement for the stocker at the price of $150, but don't say that it will make significant power over the stocker.

Yeah, I wouldn't go saying that either. Theres a reason why its a 150 bucks.

a piece of plywood? That would protect it. A sheet of aluminum, if your concerned about weight? Maybe ARC will make a titantium one, and charge $40000.00 for it.

Intercoolers are gonna get a little beat up, it's gonna happen. Just deal with it, do what the rest of us do and bend the fins back with pliers when it gets bad.

Or get it coated by Swaintech. It's a thermal dispersant coating, that will help the intercooler to cool better, but also has a black semi-gloss look to it. That way you cant really see the intercooler, or the damage it gets.
