MondoBongo-

Thanks for the tips! The install went well thanks to your tips. I did end up going to Home Depot for more Circlips. The hardest part of the job was getting the circlip on. Car shifts pretty nice now. It's got more of a mechanical, sturdy feel to it (if that makes sense). It's a pretty cheap and fairly easy mod. I also put the 4 eurethane (beatrush) bushings in the shifter mount, which helped as well... not long ago I also installed the beatrush driveshaft carrier bushings, as well as the rear differenial bushings, so my driveline is about at tight and slack free as you can get it. I have the lower powerflex motormount, but not the side ones. Im not sure if the side ones are really necessary. With all these drivetrain upgrades and my new Exedy HD twin disk, my Evo is shifting like a champ.

Sorry about that man. It's been a while since I did this and I remembered it as the airbox. I think this and the powerflex front mount make a huge difference (especially considering the price). Upgrading both side mounts may work for you, but I decided against it because the front one tightened it up enough for my liking. Have you upgraded the shifter base bushings too? Also cheap and the easiest one to do. Not as dramatic of an improvement but makes a noticeable difference.

I'm confused... The EvoMoto howto shows installing the bushings inside the car... How come you guys are installing them in the engine bay under the battery?

there are different kind of bushings for shifters. the one evomoto shows the install for are on the base of the shifter itself, under the console.

the one he is talking about in this thread are underhood bushings that connect to the gear select lever in the engine.

i haven't tried the ones that go under the console yet, but i may be giving them a chance in not too long a time.
