I put mine in snow mode and it drove fine. There were some areas where the roads were pretty well cleared off and I had no issues. Give it a try.

The different acd modes only take effect under WOT

If you wanna have fun in the snow you keep it in Tarmac mode. (instant lock up of the rear diff) If you need to drive with the most stability put it in Snow mode. (5 seconds to lock the rear diff)

Just give it a try in a snowy parking lot and you'll probably see the difference. Your tail is probably more likely to swing out earlier in tarmac mode...try it, you don't even have to drive fast, just in a circle.

Regardlessly, be careful!! ACD only allows better traction in turning...it doesn't mean you can stop any easier on the snow...don't hit your brakes too hard or sudden...AWD gives people too much confidence, but ppl forget about the stopping part of driving a car.

As with most everything, results in given conditions will be most effected by the tires you wear and much less by the ACD mode you choose.

I use it daily up here in CO, or at least I have over the last month or so. You don't use snow mode if you "want to have fun." You use snow mode so that you can get from point A to point B safely. It only takes effect when turning, not when accelerating or stopping, and it's not only at WOT.

To reiterate and emphasize, tires will make the biggest difference. I use Blizzaks (snow tires) on my crappy rims in snow mode to achieve the most stability.

I got to try out the differences the other night when we got about an inch here. Like people have been saying, Tarmac mode is the most "fun", but snow mode really does make a difference when it comes to keeping the rear in check. That being said, however, snow mode does NOT make you a god on the snow. It's really a combination of the snow tire and and the car's ability to stop safely that makes the difference. Please keep it safe though, as AWD and Snow mode don't equal invincibility in winter weather.

I used "snow" mode on ice and it works well. I've been procrastinating on getting all-season tires and had to drive to work in the ice with the advans. Definately did some sliding but if you don't have to go up steep hills or over 6" of snow the advans will get you there....just be careful. :-)

doesn't really matter what mode you're in....it does matter what tires. just go into a empty parking lot and have fun
