No I doubt an Evo holds the record at Tsukuba...it is much too heavy a car and has a high center of gravity. There are probably a few NSX's/Rx-7's out there can have gone faster than 54 seconds.

The HKS TRB-02 Evo 8 with a dry carbon fiber widebody is the fastest time attack car around Tsukuba and it did it 54.739. Nobody has gone faster than that since. This Evo has a dry carbon fiber hood and trunk, front and rear fenders, side skirts, front and rear bumpers, doors, headlight delete covers and rear wing. The only panel that is not dry carbon fiber is the roof panel.

This Evo is obviously gutted to the bare metal and seam welded for higher chassis stiffness. In my estimate this Evo is about 2,700 pounds including a heavy roll cage. Watch this video and you will understand why it is the fastest time attack car in Tsukuba, period.

Take a look at the October 2006 issue of Turbo magazine and you will see the HKS CT230R Evo 8 along with it's entire modification list. This car is basically the exact same thing as the HKS TRB-02 Evo 8, but with a 2.3L stroker kit. This version has only gone 55.063 seconds, but has the capability of running a 53 second lap time around Tsukuba. This car was basically built with Super GT500 standards in mind, but with only 265mm wide semi-slick A048 tires.

You need to do some research before you start saying BS like you just did, sonicnofadz.

This link from HKS Japan will you give the rundown of the HKS CT230R. After clicking on the below link click the HKS Racing link and than the Time Attack link.

Thats damn fast... though the carbon hks evo ran 54.7ish? (dont remember exact time) early on in their day and probably would've run faster but crashed it just after making the record setting time. Did the cyber evo beat hks's time? Thats an amazing accomplishment, i'm assuming that was with tarzan driving? Congrats to the whole crew.

The exact lap time for the HKS TRB-02 is 54.739 seconds. I also posted a You Tube movie link from my previous post that showed the entire record breaking run at Tsukuba.

Look at my previous post to answer your question. That NSX is a Super GT500 all out racecar so that record does not count.
