Man i love this car ... I got on it just barely from 1st-2nd gear last night and the turbo spools just as fast as my 05!! I can definitely tell the low-midrange torque cause of the MIVEC.. Cant wait til i put the exhaust and mbc and have TTP-E tune it

 

Shouldn't each year have the same spool-up? Maybe the Mivec helps the lower range effeciency so it spews less exhaust gas for spool?

i thought the ix turbo spooled SLIGHTLY slower than the VIII

 

^^^ i dont think so?? The new mivec and the larger compressor housing and the coolants in the heads- the IX spools a bit faster ( idk 200-300 rpms dont kno for sure). The IX is more mod friendly with the stock turbo

 

damn.. this guy is on his 3rd EVO... llol im not even on my first.. nor will I be for another year or 2..

 

My friend has a IX SE and I can feel the difference that MIVEC makes on the car compared to my 05.

 

What's even better is that you can alter the spool by adjusting the MIVEC table using something like Ecuflash. And you can pull the MIVEC advance at higher rpms.

 

What about cams Miguel, . You know the IX's don't like cams, .
