should i keep the evo

hey i've had my 06 evo IX since july and it's without a doubt the most amazing car i've ever driven but im 19 and in college. my parents are splitting the payments with me right now, and i'm able to pay it easy but it doesn't leave me much money to save for apartment, food, workout suppliments etc.

but i feel like if i decide to sell it now ill have missed my chance for a while to own an evo. and if i do sell it my dad's giving me his old 02 wrx so it wouldn't be all bad. though i'd probibly use my money to mod that anyway haha just looking for some advice. thanks

I would say sell the evo. After being in a similar situation with going to college and having a tight budget, things are much easier when you have extra money laying around for rent, etc. All of that pressure is taken off of you so you can concentrate more on studying, learning, and doing all of the stuff that makes college a blast. Trust me, studying hard now and doing well in school will pay off way more than having a nice car in college and maybe not landing that higher-paying job due to lower grades from being distracted.

If you are asking this question then you shouldn't keep the evo.

Sell the car. Enjoy college. A 2002 wrx is still a badass car to have at 19-20. It isn't like you would dropping the Evo for a 73 Buick LeSabre or something. go rex.

Well personally I think you made a mistake by buying the EVO before college rather than after. I saved my pennies through school and then had a nice down payment saved up when I graduated in '04. But since you already have it you might as well keep it. You'll find a way to afford it. Remember, you're in college so it is OK to drink Natty and Beast. You dont need that high class stuff. That should help save some money.

evo is an expensive car to maintain. I say sell it. You are going to need lots of money for pads, rotors, plugs, etc.

I made the mistake of getting one in my freshman year of college too, saved all through HS and dropped a 6500 down payment, and now im unhappyly making 301 a month payment, but you know what, I still love this car to death, and Im willing to work hard enough to be sucessful in school and make my payments on time every month. And have enough extra laying around to mod a little bit and take care of the car with all nessacary maintanance. To me having a car I can be proud of is of paramount importance, but I can understand how it wouldnt be to someone else, so you have to weigh your prioritys.

I say quit buying meaningless "workout supplements". Eat real food. It's not necessarily quicker, but it's cheaper. You'll probably save yourself $100 a month if you drop the supplements! hehe
