close call!
Just a friendly reminder!!! I was driving home from a get together pulling off the highway and about to turn onto the main road that leads to my house when I hit some black ice on a left turn. Car lost control very easily, I spun but luckily was able to steer out of it and avoid any obstacles. Just had a flash and installed a TBE and pump so I'm a little heavy on the gas getting a feel for the car with the added hp and tq. Just wanted to remind everyone that AWD does not equal complete invincibility and to watch out during winter. I know it's been said thousands of times but what's one more?
I've seen cars stopped in their tracks, sliding down on/off ramps like hockey pucks due to black ice. It's an astonishing sight.
First time I hit black ice, I was on Eagle GTs (cold weather performance similar to the Advans). Due to arrogance and inexperience, I thought the roads were just a little more slippery than normal, and went on to pass slower traffic all the way home, while marveling at the sheer number of cars blown off the road <duh>.
