Shipping my EVO overseas.
Shipping my EVO overseas.
Well...it's official; I will be moving to Europe in order to fullfil some family obligations and my baby is coming with me. It depends on many things but the trip is roughly a month. This question might sound dumb but are there any special "over the water" shipping requirements? Gas, oil, fluids, cover etc. I have a list that I made up already and I plan to ask my service tech at the dealer next week. I am sure someone has done this before though, so I figured I would take a shot at it.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I just did this, my car was dropped off in Portsmouth Va on Dec 27th and just arrived at South Hampton UK today. You may or may not need additional items. For example your US insurance may NOT cover your car overseas.

LOL...I expected a few sentences from random people but Bone, this is AWESOME and some of the information I had is defferent. Given the fact that you just did this, I will take your word on it and obviously, confirm the information with my shipping agent.
Thanks again!
Same goes for coming back into the USA.
For example you have a CF hood, if your car originally had an emissions decal affixed to the stock hood, you will not be allowed to ship your car back to the USA untill you get a replacement decal. I know, 2 of my buddies were caught out by this when shipping their WRX's back.
Oh and the rules are a bit easier for me due to the car coming over on the Visiting Forces Act.

Chances are that I will be shipping a container-full of my stuff, along with the vehicle...I am feeling the first waves of anxiety from this because I am mving EVERYTHING, not just a car...at any rate, this is why I am doing my homework now...the move is late Spring of 07.
