a lot of things would LOOK cool sure, but seems to me put some thought into our hoods already.

im not going to go and swap out my brembos for _____, or recaros for ______, or the momo wheel for _____, you see?

i think the money for a CF hood would be better spent elsewhere.

but i dont want to change the subject. im def interested to see how a CF hood looks tho. probably wayyyyy

CF Hood: Money wasted on just looks plus you'll prolly have that ugly gap because it's hard to get the fitting right and then you've got more maintenance, plus the rice look to complement your altrezzas in the back. NICE!

me? Evo 8 with Evo 7 taillights and engine mods only please

not sure why everyone bags the clear lamps... if your car comes with them, i'm all for them... it's the douchebags that add them after the fact that get me...

anyway, i wouldn't mind a CF hood if it came with the vent that was on the VII, and had the 2 seperate vents that were on the VII hood as well... and it'll be lighter than the aluminum stock hood as well...

i'm still waiting on the CF air splitter that one guy was talking about...

What exactly is "rice" about a CF hood? It's true that there are a lot of lamers out there with poor quality/downright fake CF products, but the real deals are the farthest thing from "rice". Get your facts straight. Our hoods are light, but you can save 10-15 pounds there, and another 20 (that's 20!!) with a CF trunk replacement. You want to build a car that "performs", put it on a diet and make it stiffer. But if all you plan to do is be EXACTLY LIKE EVERYONE ELSE go ahead and slap on an exhaust, BOV, a super afc, the typical RRM/RMR stuff and have fun. As for fittment, ****ty stuff fits ****tty...period. Well designed stuff fits...um hmm. I dunno, It's not my intention to flame, but people are way too quick to call a lot of SUPER HIGH END JDM parts "rice" because they've never heard of them before/don't have the means to purchase them. Bring on the flamers
BTW: VIS has one OTW from Japan as we speak, I'll post pictures when it gets here.

Wow, that was a real thought out response, pls lemme take notes.
Let's start by tossing your jack, spare wheel, back seats, gut out the interior, get lighter rims, lose the sun roof. Hmm car is still slow...let's get a CF hood, that should ligthen things up a bit.
You understand?
So until people start buggin about .20 seconds on their 1/4mile, I'm going to stand firm and say CF hoods are rice.

He started the thread, his opinion is held to higher regard then yours. Thanks for particpating.

On a lighter note, have you gotten rid of the electric mechanism on your windows yet?
Oh yeah and lemme guess, you're gonna get a CF hood from VIS.
You see, I've got a problem, the problem isn't the fact that you've obviously been smoking some pretty good ****, the problem is the fact that you haven't been sharing!

Garage HRS's A'pex Cyber Evo

Diesel: Do you mean that you like the look of the Evo VII hood more than the VIII hood? If so, that's fully understood.

Otherwise, why would you want a CF hood with the vents from a Evo VII? The newer Evo VIII hood was optimized for aerodynamics/cooling/air circulation in the wind tunnel so it should be more functional.

I would like to see a company develope a hood that fits as good as the stock hood and functions better. I guess it'll take some time to source a company with a wind tunnel tested and developed hood a la Mugen.

I like this one but I wonder how it works.

there is nothing RICE about a carbon fiber hood to match the carbon fiber wing....rice is more like something not necessary at all and looks goofy and a CF hood on a evo would match real nice and would NOT look goofy...no one can disrespect an evo with the stock altezza lights or a carbon fiber hood etc unless it has something really stupid like UNDERGLOW...
