Just wanted to say...

What's up everyone!

I have had my VIII for about 2 days, 400miles and it's been pure ecstacy. I sold my 03 350Z last week in favor of this ride and all I can say is "wow". I''ve always been into imports (first REAL car was a 87 Turbo II RX-7) and have rifled thru a few cars in the last year or so, and I have to admit nothing has come close to this EVO. The only thing I CAN compare it to (which happens to be my favorite psat car) is my 93 RX-7 Sinlge Turbo (402RWHP), but I know mod for mod, the VIII will end up being pick of the litter...

For starters the handling is unbelievable... My 3rd Gen was defiently a track car from the factory, and this EVO is no different/ I really think, nevermind, I KNOW this car can go off the lot and straight to the track, and lay down the smack... no questions...

Anyhow, I guess I just haven't had a car I actually liked enough to justify participateing in a forum, but this EVO has done somthing to me...... something has Evolved....

Over and out...

Pretty cool you went from the hyped 350z to an Evo and can notice that much of a difference.

Some of the best testamonials to the EVO's kick-*** capabilities come from owners that have owned and experienced other awesome cars like the 350Z, Supra's, Rx7's, M3's, Camaro SS', 911's, Mustang Cobra's, Corvettes, and Audi S4's, to name just a few.

These kinds of cars are truly the best you will find, and all worth owning. To hear someone like MattGold get excited about the EVO VIII, with a 350Z, and Rx7 fresh in his mind only confirms the greatness of the EVO.

Welcome MattGold!

Anybody "top-out" there Evo yet? I've done 152mph on the speedometer @ 6900 on the tach in stock trim last week. I still had some pedal left but I ran out of highway.

you, my man, are lying.....because if you hit 6900 on the tach in 5th gear you would have been doing 172.5mph...are you sure it was not 5900?......the evo does approx 25mph per 1000rpm in 5th gear

What is amazing to me is that the Evo is totally under control at speed. At 100+ some highway entrances that ask you to slow to 50mph, for example, are taken as if you are going 50. The suspension, the tires, the steering ratio, seats, the whole package is, in my opinion, complete.

Other cars I have driven and currently drive handle like mack trucks or cadillac's in comparison to the Evo. Not as pretty on the inside or have as many "luxury" features but as a pure drivers car nothing beats it in my opinion. To be fair of course I have not driven everything out there but in my time on this earth I have driven a few and have come up with these thoughts.

My .02c.

That's my story and I am sticking to it.

I4K20C - What do I miss about the 350? Well, there's maybe 5 things, one of which is the one-touch up and down windows. But really nothing is missed but ammenities. The 350 had this really cool electric gauge that read out Distance Till Empty, Outside Temp, etc, etc, etc... but I'd give up all that for this car...

As for everyone else, THANKS! I'm glad this forum is such a open community. MANY forums out there (Supra, some NSX guys, Porsche) are total ******... Good to know there's still some enthusists out there...
