Turbo Timer - Which one is best?

I recently took delivery of my Evo VIII and wish to install a turbo timer. Which model is best? I don't know if I need the lap timer, ect, just looking for a solid unit. Thanks for the help.

If you looking for the best, then your looking for all of the bells and whistles too. Easy biased choice -- HKS Type 1 -- about $117-120 with the harness for an easy/clean install.

I have the HKS Type-0. And I love it! The color matches the gauges.

True-dat ... tru-dat. Type is 0 is phat too ... w/o all the bells & whistles. But Type 1 is nice because is has the optional shift light (helps you to know when to shift when you are racing by flashing red, and you set at any rpm you want), also has 0-60 stop clock, digital mph feature -- so you know your EXACT speed, and more.

Thanks for the information. Looks like my decision is between the type 0 or 1.

I chose the Blitz DTT because of the fact that it's boost sensitive. It's pretty no-nonsense in daily use (for me at least). I have it set to 30sec min, with high sensitivity boost mode. The thing that I like is that it really represents how I have driven the car. If I drive hard for one minute, it will show 2 mins on the timer. But if I chill for five minutes before I stop, it drops down to 30secs again. I don't really have to pay attention to whether I am in the boost or not, I just look at the timer. It's nice. That's the thing that matters to me, how hard I drove the car. The remote display is easy to mount and the features are really practical in daily use. My two cents.

Type 0 looks exactly like Type 1, but with amber lighting. That's what I've got and I love it. You can't really go wrong with either of them; just depending on if you want the extra features of Type 1, though honestly, the primary reason I got the Type 0 was because the lighting matched much better.

Another thing to consider, in regard to color lighting that is .... are you going to add anything else electronic to the car. For instance, I'm adding an HKS EVC BC which features the same/similar lighting as the type 1. Just another thing to think about ... maybe.
