yeah screw ssqv. i had one on my 8 and nothing but a pain. idles funny, stalls at low rpms. clutch in coming off the highway and you have to blip the gas to keep from stalling haha. and that was with it recirc. gave it to my bro for his WRX and works great, holds boost like a champ. evo doesnt like it tho. good job on the other stuff tho, your car will be a different monster haha.

nice set up, -1 for ssqv, stick with a dv, you'll notice a bigger boost response
or atleast go hks type II, which recirculates

 

How much is the AMS FMIC nowadays?

I bought mine about a year ago in a group buy last minute before i took the car down to AMS, just wana compare!

 

Mmmmmmmmm.....new parts. I remember the day I got my new intercooler and piping. It arrived at my house while I was at work. I couldn't wait till the next day so I stayed up till like 2 in the morning putting the stuff on.

I've run the SSQV on two Evos and never had any problems whatsoever. Plus it sounded tight. I think it is all just a matter of opinion.

 

Nice parts I want an AMS IC so bad but your a lucky man........enjoy

 

Just use the HKS BOV and lose the race while sounding like one of the seven dwalfs. Or use an OE based recirculated valve and beat anything that moves on the street. Your choice.

hmm... the end tanks on that IC look exactly like the XSPower IC. when did AMS start making cast end tanks for their IC, and the inlet/outlet tubes are straight, not curved like the original AMS.
