Speed source 6 spd shifter bushings fitment issues
Speed source 6 spd shifter bushings fitment issues
so today i went to install some 6 speed shifter bushing into a customers car. i was using the speed source 6 speed bushings (brass). the smaller of the two bushings fit just fine. the larger of the two fit in the cable side fine, but the center hole is to large, and there is a great deal of slop. so much so i put the stock one back in until i have my friend turn a new brass one to the proper dimensions.
my question is, has anyone installed the speed source 6 speed shifter bushings in a 9 mr yet? i had two sets of these bushings and both sets were flawed.
one other issue was that the pin on the transmission side did not use a cotter pin. instead it used a pinching type clip which was on the bushing. the speed source bushings came with two cotter pins which obviously only one could be used. on the other, a c-clip would work great to hold it, fortunately i have a bunch of them.

Are they actually claimed to be made for the 6spd? I ask, because on most sets of bushings, they only fit the 5spd. The shifter bushings work, but not the underhood bushings on most. That's why I have Kartboy under my shifter but stock under the hood, although I'll be putting in some Buschur underhood bushings now that I have the 5spd.
yes, claimed to be 6 speed bushings. obviously they don't come close to fitting the 5 speeds. the outside diameter of the bushings are correct. just the center hole and cotter pin on the one. both problems i can fix, but it sucks i paid for a product that doesn't work.
