removed hood vent q

may sound like a noob question but i love to be cautious. I removed the shield under the hood vent for looks so you could see into the engine bay like most others on the forum have. but...when it rains a lot of water gets in the engine bay and even tho it would anyways, it smokes a lot at startup and a little bit at idle...i think it is normal but someone make my worries go away....thanx

That is just the rain hitting the hot engine, such as the exhaust manifold. Nothing to be worried about.

Took mine out for a while, no problems.

Took some aircraft grade paint remover and got all the paint off the top side (Was fading anyway).

Once all the paint was gone I used some metal polish and it shined up perfectly. Looks great under the black mesh that is already there.

I throw a trash bag on top of the engine once it cools. It works great as long as you remove it before you start it.

even with the hood vents in place on start up i get vapor boiling off the engine, so seeing it without wouldnt be too out of the ordinary.
