Hell yeah! I learned to drive by always running town to town on those crazy twisty country backroads. There were never really any cops (or even other cars for that matter) on them either. That is truly one thing I miss (moved to the city) about the country. It was like having my own personal test track, except with the constant fear of hitting deer at night time, which happened, many, many times. I really don't miss the smell of cow dung in the spring/summer time though

Interesting situation! It certainly wouldn't hurt to make a friend at one of the local law enforcement agencies and in a really small town, that isn't too hard as people usually know each other. A greater sense of community can be a real PITA!

Try living in Martinsville VA. The cops here seem to be fairly cool, but venture outside the 4 sq miles that is Martinsville and you are getting nailed no matter what. I even have an RS with no spoiler and was pulled over by a state trooper (With my wife in the car) I was not speeding, he just said I have an "Unapproved exhaust".

He refused to ellaborate at all on what "Unapproved" Meant!

I called and spoke to his commanding officer and was told that "Young punks that drive street racers, get pulled over a lot. It's just something you have to deal with".

So I contacted Internal affairs and filed a harassment/profiling complaint. I am also in the process of contacting the ACLU to see if they can help.

Maybe by the time I'm done with the VA state troopers they will be buying me another EVO.......

 

By the way I'm 27 years old so I am in no way just some young punk. I do however only look about 20 years old!

 

I had that when i was visiting New Caney TX. i was driving down the street going 40mph speed limit. This cop ducked down and pointed his speed gun towards me like "gotcha sucker" Its a fast looking car thats what it is.

i live in pella iowa 12000 people i have the ONLY lancer its slow as hell and everyody drools over it because their pontiac and chevys look like ****
as for the cops...i get pulled over alot i moved here from dallas tx and the first week i was here i got a 85 in a 65 hey just sit and watch.

 

there are very very few evo's here but theres sti's galore

Yeah Im pretty sure the wing is coming off. I wish I had a paint booth. That would be pretty fun. Everytime I pass a cop, they are breaking their friggin necks watching me. Im thinking I might just mind my p's and q's for a while, and wave to every single cop I see. Kinda like "HEY, look at me, Im doing the speed limit!!" Im 27, look younger, and obviously act a bit youger sometimes.

 

I live in a town with about 6800 people in it and the cops definitely keep an eye out for me.

Every time I pass them they're glued to my car like stink on ****. It's really annoying that I get pegged for having the EVO over other cars. Seems like the cops around my area are pretty decent. There's another guy in my town that has a modified EVO and he says he doesn't get bothered too much, but who knows.

All I know is that the cops keep an eye out for my EVO... gotta watch your speed and hope you don't p1ss them off.

 

i am in a small town as well, eldridge iowa. cops know both of my vehicles. my black evo, and black gmc canyon with 20's. only evo in town and canyon sittin on20's with texas plates. only one cops has messed with me, and that is because i was doing donuts in a culdasac on my street during our snow storm. neighbor thought i was some punk kid and called them. then the guy that was doing donuts with me asked the caller why did you do that he is our neighbor.? the reply was i did not know, oh well i won't call again. cop was like don't do it where you can damage other people's property, besides that i dont care where you do it!!! i have only seen 2 more evos on the surrounding city (quad cities). and i love the back roads with the twisities they are fun!!!!!!
