Is this an aftermarket JDM bumper? (pics inside)
Could be real because even though Mitsubishi paints them, people have custom paint, so they would sell unpainted one? Or you just got a replica for the same price as one painted....
Did it come with a bag with all neccessary hardware to install? (Rivets, poppets etc.) Mine also came prepainted for better than that price, and it had a mitsu parts sticker on the inside. I would imagine that even if it wasn't painted. Mitsu would stick some type of history/tracking/inventory sticker on it. I'm not gonna say it's 100% that it's fake, but I agree with those that said it could be a replica and they took u for a ride.
I've seen the same exact bumper like that at a Northern California import shop. btw, I have a JDM IX Graphite Grey rear bumper on my car.
I touched the unpainted one and it felt like a hard ABS plastic material. Definitly not the soft/flexible poly urathane material like our Evo front and rear bumpers are made of.
The shop (BaysonR) was selling it for $300.

the geniune "authentic" Mitsubishi JDM EVO IX rear bumpers come painted.
The original poster must have bought the replica ones... I've seen these replica bumpers at SEMA and a convention show in Asia earlier this month. Yes, with the logos inside the bumper as well...very disturbing..

Suppliers usually take the bumpers out because the box is just too big to carry.
