Question Boost Gauge Question

Does the size/diameter of the vacume hose a boost gauge uses matter?

it can help depend on the accuracy of the gauge

It wouldn't be a 4 lbs difference though right? Originally the car had an electric autometer, the gauge was all sorts of messed up so i bought a mech. Stewart Warner and used the same vacume hose that was going to the MAP sensor for the autometer. The hose is small, like the size of the wire coming out of your mouse. sorry for the bad comparison. I cant see over 17 lbs of boost on the gauge but if i turn up my MBC the car breaks up but the gauge doesn't read any more boost.

Thats part of the problem--Rubber will swell under boost and that could lead to bad readings...use high quality silicone or some kind of re-enforced tubing that doesnt expand or contract...
