Congrats to two Buschur Racing guys..........
Just wanted to say congrats to Trevor Jones and Trent Stanley for a great showing last weekend at the Winged Warrior 3 event.
Great event, we all had a really good time.
The event for those of you that don't know about it is put on by Kevin Butterfield for charity. More events should be run like this one as it is a multi faceted event meaning you can't show up in a car that only does one thing well and expect to win or place well.
The event was really well run, no glitches, no hold ups. This is two years in a row I was impressed with how it went.
Trevor has a 2005 MR, it is his driver. 6 speed, air conditioning etc. Not a gutted competition car and not a car that was set up to do only one thing well. His car has been set up like my RS use to be. He has a stock engine, stock head. Car is equipped with our Stages 1-4, AEM, BR race FMIC, Revolver cams. Great car, very responsive and is being run full time on E85 fuel. Trevor is also an awesome driver. The cars suspension is set up with Apexi N1 struts and a rear sway bar. I corner scaled it and aligned it for least about of tire wear and to go straight and fast down the 1/4 mile. Needless to say setting it up to just road race or autocross the car could be much quicker.
Trevor took 1st place in the Autocross running a 57.71 for his best time. He also took 3rd in the drag race running an 11.2. Car show was also included and he placed 12th.
Great having you on our team Trevor.
Trent Stanley is my friend and our welder here at the shop. Also an extremely good driver. I asked him to drive my RS at this event.........because I suck.
My car and Trevors are very similar except my engine/head are built, I am running a GT35R turbo and C16 fuel. Alignment, suspension components are identical.
Trent has a very limited amount of autocross experience, he's tried it 3 times before this weekend. Attempting it in my car with 550 whp on low boost is a real task for anyone. The car would just get out of control with the slightest too much throttle input.
Trent managed a very respectable 59.61 in the autocross which put the car in 4th place. In the drags we took first. The track was super slick and had not been prepped at all. Still managed a 10.05 at 146.9 mph. Car show my car took 4th.
The overall win I thought was going to go to Trevor and I was going to be happy with 2nd overall. We ended up gaining an extra 2 points in the car show which put us in 1st though. Bitter sweet win, I'd have been happy with the outcome either way.
Congrats to both you of you guys. I only wish I could drive as well as the two of you.
