Is it possible for someone to "tune" your stock ecu. I was told with my setup:05 evo8 w/ hks 272/272cams, 3" tb exhaust, intake, boost controller, boost gauge, egt, aem a/f gauge, and oil pressure gauge, that this guy from aem can run my car on a dyno and "tune" my stock ecu not just flash it with out me having a piggy back or any other ems. does anyone know anything about this

 

what are you talking about dude? Heres a link for you. Technically a custom tune is still a flash. Theres really no need for a stand alone until you go big turbo, cams, etc.. and even then there are 35r turbos on 1000cc injectors on the stock ECU no piggyback or stand alone.

it's a custom flash...you get the car dynoed/road tuned so you can see how the car reacts in various gears and rpm

getting a mail in flash is basically tuning a car just a little more conservative considering they can't predict exactly how the car will react

 

ok thanks alot then guys. i was just curious cause i have had several people tell me different things. are you familiar with how they monitor it. like i know with a ems they can hook up a laptop and dyno it an watch. do you know if they are able to hook up the stock ecu and monitor the numbers too?

p.s. i am getting cams but i guess 272s are go to go with the type of tune

 

Yes most of the people here log there car with a laptop. Evoscan which is $25 and Mitsulogger which is FREE. All you need is the tactrix cable. All of this info is on this site man
