to our customers. from J-ondemand

To our customers,

I just wanted to thank everyone whose been going through us for your JDM parts and for understanding our situation. For the past 2 months, with a loss of our Evom guy and our supplier reconstructing his facility in Japan we had couple delays for our shipments. Us J-ondemand team is always looking for ways to improve faster delivery, cheaper rate, and better customer service. I, as owner of J-ondemand do apologize for our few complaints on our delivery time and customer service. My recent trip to Japan was to stable our supplies and shipping as well as opening up new accounts. We have formed a corporation in Japan as well and put 2 staff in to give better updates on our orders daily. I had couple meetings with our shipping company for more stable Eta on our shipments and cheaper rates. As you know, we are the only company that has access to really cheap UPS air shipping for small items from japan to your door. Most of our customers who use this is pretty happy with our service. Big things such as Aero kits cannot be air’d for cheap still but we are working with UPS SCS team to negotiate some kind of pricing structure. As you know we lost our Evom guy and we lost many contacts and slacked on customer service on this forum. I recently had Jeremiah, who is a Evom veteran to be in charge of our customer service. Im sure hes been very helpful lately with a quick response. I also will be on this forum since we have the most customers from Evom. Please understand that sometimes we do get a lot of messages and cannot get back right away. But we do get back the same day. I have my phone number for a reason also. This letter is also to show you guys what we really have to go through to get you your parts so youll understand more about the whole process. I made a faq section so please take some time to read it so you can understand.

1. Why does it take so long for parts to get from Japan? Many of you whose been to Japan and actually visited shops know that they are very small. Due to space, 95% of the shops do not stock on parts. So if we get a sale, we would have to send the money to japan which takes up to 4business days. Then they would have to manufacturer the product which can take up to 8 weeks or longer depending on how much back order they have. A lot of Carbon fiber and titanium manufacturers do take long. Then they send it to our Yokohama shipping facility which takes about a week to vann(properly package for shipping). Just keep in mind that in japan, when theres a event or holiday, these shops are closed. December and January was crucial to us since the biggest time attack event, Christmas, new years, and Tokyo auto salon. Our shipments was pretty much stopped at those time since almost every shop was getting ready for those events. Eta is given to our customers but that is only a “estimated time arrival”. We are not psychic so we cannot give you an exact date unless the parts are in stock and we use ups to ship it. Each time we place an order with a manufacturer, we are given a eta from them and that is what we tell our customers. Anything over that eta is not “our” fault but the manufacturers. There is nothing we can do about this except to call them and keep asking them for updates. This is very common for carbon fiber and aero manufacturers.

2. How is our order shipped? And how long does that take? Like most companies who import products from Japan, we do not wait until our container is full. Most companies would stock parts at their warehouse in japan until their container is full so they would not lose any money on shipping. A half container full on a 20ft can easily lose about $1500-2000. J-ondemand ships containers and LCL out every week. We do share containers with companies that wants to put their products in our container. Shipments readys to leave Japan is always packed 1 week before shipping out. It does have to go through customs in Japan. It then takes about 9-11days oversea to Long Beach port where it gets unloaded and devanned(unpacking from the container). Our professional broker team will fill in any paper work for our container to pass customs. Just to remind you, customs is a *****. It can take anywhere from a few days to few weeks. We have no control over this, so if you have a problem waiting try calling the US Customs. Im sure they wont even pick up their phone. Many of you asked us if we can make the process faster at customs, but the answer is always a NO. Every company has to go through this. After our container is dropped off at our warehouse or office, it takes a few hours to unload and check everything for damages and missing parts. A lot of the times it takes time for us to ship them out because we have to repack them. Japanese boxes are weak unlike American boxes. Most of the time, the original boxes are ripped or crushed from the ocean freight. We take each part out and rewrap them with bubble wraps to qualify for UPS or Bax insurance claims. Without this, we cannot win a insurance claim. We are doing this for you guys.

3. How can I save money on shipping and have it shipped faster? The best way to save money on shipping and getting your JDM parts faster is to use our UPS shipping from Japan. This only applies to small items up to 15kg. We do get a huge discount on UPS account since we know someone in high rank for ASIA. We do ship big products through air when we are asked. The price on air freight is expensive for bodykits since we are paying mostly for air in the box. If products are in stock in Japan, we are the fastest company to get these parts for you. Any item on Japanese auction site is always being watched 24/hr a day for us to get the part when asked. We have hired 1 person to strictly keep track and updates of all shipments with our shipping company and manufacturers. With one person in our Japan office and one person here, we will have more info that’s reliable and up to date.

4. Whats the difference between J-ondemand and other companies that import? J-ondemand is a corporation formed in the United States and in Japan. Our Japanese corporation is under a different name but we do have an office and staff at our Yokohama location. We have collaborated with WELD and GarageHRS this past week to make our business bigger and stronger. These 2 companies will be coming to the US soon also through us. Many of you have seen this information on the WELD coverage on the recent Dsports Magazine. We do work closely with Voltex, Cyber Evo, MK Sports, and Varis in Japan. We are the only one who actually gets a written contract for japan-us sales. J-ondemand is a part of Team Cyber which Tarzan, Voltex, Unlimited Works, GarageHRS, MK Sports, and Cyber Evo’s sponsors. We do support every event that Cyber Evo runs and we do get to meet new manufacturers and make new connections as we travel with them. J-ondemand does not grey market other peoples products in the US. We always get permission from Japan side before bringing in parts to the US or other part of the world. Anything like ARC, VOLK, RAYS, SSR, TEIN, will be bought by the manufacturers here in the US. We have good relationships with these manufacturers as some of the companies in the industry don’t. J-ondemands staff has been in the car industry for 5-10yrs. I myself has been in it since 1996 and are still friends with a lot of the industry guys. We do have Bernard which came from Autobacs USA, Sam from Team Hokori, Mark from Sun Automobile, Ian from Team hokori, and Evom veteran Jeremiah in our US office. J-ondemand is very active in marketing, doing shows across the US with our hot cars and girls, collaborating with Dsports at times to cover some of the shops we handle, and attend ever race event. We will continue to cover the events in Japan and share the pictures with you. I know a lot of you have heard bad things about us through different companies, but that is just business. Our business is all about competition in price, customer service, and delivery time. J-ondemand will keep growing to be the number one source for JDM parts. You will see a difference now that we have conquered all our problems from the past.

5. How can I get a hold of them If theyre not answering their pms or email?
We are sorry but at times we cannot answer pms and emails right away. We get so many emails, pms, and phone calls a day, but we do get back to our customers the same day. The best way is to instant message me(hiro) or Jeremiah or call our cell phones or office phones. We do pick up 24/7 7 days a week unless we are at an event. The information is on our signature.

6. If im not happy with my service? Please let us know how you feel, or how we can satisfy your needs. We are here to listen and help. We just ask that you do it privately since we do keep things professional or you can contact Charles, the moderator on Evom to mediate between us. He is on there for a reason. We try to give the best customer service but we know we cannot make everyone happy, we can only try. Refunds are given at times we feel that its necessary but by law we are given 30days to refund. We do get the money back from Japan, then to us, then to the customer. Please don’t expect a overnight paypal refund. No business will do that. We will respect all customers so please respect us back.

7. Why did those negative posts get deleted or locked? Because we talk to the moderator when people don’t respect the rule of Evom. Any posts that has nothing to do with us or something that is unappropriate is deleted by the mod. We are a paid vendor on this site and anything that will hurt the company from false accusations will be taken off. Anything that has no proof will also be deleted since we keep all paper trails for our protection. As you know, forums has a lot of “bashing” when people who don’t even buy or deal with that vendor talks badly of them. You will see that a lot of the companies will not go on forums since they know about this “bashing”.

8. What is J-ondemands future goal? Our goal is to be the best and only provider of all JDM parts to our customers across the world. We have networked to hundreds of customers, vendors and would like to keep growing. We will try to provide the cheapest and fastest way to get your parts. J-ondemand is teaming up with several sponsors to have events such as shows, time attack, japan trips, meets, and free track day to give something back to our customers. Not many companies care about their customers after their purchase, but we do. We are also a customers of other companies for our parts too so we know how you feel.

9. Does J-ondemand Sponsor? Yes we do, with the manufacturers approval from Japan, we do have access to demo car price. This is only given to cars which is highly qualified. We are sorry but we do not sponsor stock cars or cars that have replica parts. We have a reputation to keep for the manufacturers and us. Were always open to ideas and sponsoring events so please email us or give us a call.

If we haven’t answered your questions here, please feel free to contact us. We hope everyone understands the process and why it takes so long for parts to come and sometimes the Eta is off. Jeremiah has started already on this forum and he is busting ***. Many of you have noticed a difference in our service already. He will keep providing you the service you always wanted.

Thank You,

Hiro Ishida

I highly recommend that the UPS Air shipping option is taken advantage of... it's very convenient and allows you to skip the dreaded JDM wait time. If I can, this is the only way I will get parts from Japan and Hiro always helps me out with awesome rates. Sometimes the rates from Japan seem to be cheaper than what I'm quoted for shipping in the US

They even sent and claim to be sending stuff to me here in Korea, though I might be the only newer generation evo here.
