Just got my Evo 6
Hey guys!
Finally got an Evo 6. The Evo 6.5 I wanted fell through because of compliancing laws (Some of you may have heard of that a few months ago, when I was lamenting over the loss of my TME that I put a deposit on), but the Evo 6 was about 10K cheaper anyway (About $6000USD cheaper)
I tell you what. The car scares me. I'm used to driving quite powerful Naturally Aspirated cars, so when I downshift, I expect it to move very quickly... I got the car, took it for a drive. Downshifted to 3rd while doing 60mph, and thought "where's the power"? Then the turbo lag passed... Was kicked back in my seat like the S2000 never did.
I'm going to get some track time to practise. Going to enjoy being on this forum a lot more.

Very nice Sunder. Post some pics when you get a chance.
You also might want to check out www.lancerregister.com You should be able to find lots of info on your Evo 6 especially when it comes to mods.

Yeah, I also had a S2000 before I got my EVO VIII. The accelleration is much better on the EVO but the brakes and handling round out a package the S2000 can't match. I can brake so much deeper and get on the power so much earlier then in my S2000. Some of my favorite roads are quite bumpy in the corners and that made driving my S2000 like 'walking on eggshells.' The rear was always on the verge of snaping around. It was fun in a way, but it was also a lot slower. Now, I go through the same corners in my EVO and I brake 50ft later, carry 20+ mph more in mid-corner and then blast out with a fury the S2000 could never have duplicated. Have fun with the EVO 6 you are lucky those cars have been out in OZ for so long. We in the US are just getting a chance to sample the EVO's sweet nectar. Be safe...
