Stock Evo: Car Didn't Start

Hey everyone,

Two days ago, I got into my car and tried starting the but it just cut off. I tried again, and the same thing happened. In the two years that I've owned the car, nothing like this has happened so that's why I am a little worried. Should I be worried or is something normal from time to time? Btw, keep in my mind that my evo is completely stock except for a catback exhaust, nothing done to the engine. I was thinking maybe it has something to do with my ignition or something... Feed back would help!

Can you be a little more specific? Like did it start for a few seconds and turn right off?

When I turned the key, I heard the ignition sound, and after that when the engine was suppose to start everything just went dead. Almost like a stall.

Does it turn over? IF not, check the fuseable link to the starter, or look for fuses blown under the hood. Try to use the spare key to the ignition also.

Hmm, I'll try to be more specific:

1. I turned the key
2. I heard the ignition noise as usual
3. Usual after two ignition noises the car engine starts, but this time everything went dead. The cluster had no power and nothing else did either.

If you guys want more detail about something else specific, let me know .

did you just wash the car? Did you hose down the intercooler like crazy? My buddy did that once when we were washing our cars, he blasted the IC and when I went to start it, the car died the first time. Second time was fine though. just a thought.

It sounds like a simple dead battery. You can take your battery to autozone and they can test it there for free.
