no body knows what happened to big al really? if im correct last i heard, alot of the evo community was bashing him about his so called tunes. and the main reason he went to the subaru world. just from what i have heard though. but i wouldnt doubt it watching the videos on youtube of "dyno or no dyno" and a customer saying not to push his car any further but big al goes on to, well, push it unitl the clutch starts slipping. if a tuner were to do that to my car after i said to stop... well the tuner probably wouldnt be able to see a lap top screen for a while lets just say that.

He was tuning suby's before evo's. Since the evo crowd got smart and punted him, he's gone back to blowing up suby's again. Good riddance.

I remember reading through these threads about him back when I bought my '04 and did the mail away tune. He was not great on customer service and the flash tune sucked. My car surged in the upper rpms. Then my current one I bought with his tune on it and am still cleaning his mess up.

I made him stop tuning my car once he couldn't get the aem right. Kept saying I had engine problems. Went to another local tuner and the car ran great.

The names have changed, but we still have plenty of toonrz on here.

 

I remember when I ended up there after being kicked out from EFI Tuning as my tuner was Conflict of Interest to Chris @ EFI Tuning so we limped to the shop where Al resided (can't recall the name, it was in CT not too far from EFI Tuning). At least they didn't kick us out, but Al was a douche, wouldn't let us peek in the garage and then when they did boost leak test he'd say that my motor is bad and he can take it out for $1600, my tuner Mike @ Innovative just shook his head and told me my engine is fine and not to fall for Al's shenanigans.

That same engine after Mike finished tuning, ran HPDE's and made 500whp for almost 2 years until I sold it.
