If anyone is interested. I just had the stinkin stock stereo swapped for the Alpine 9815. This unit is kicking. I decided to leave the stock speakers in for some long-term testing before any additional audio changes. The Alpine 9815 put out an honest 60 watts (vs. stock ~140), plays MP3/WAV's off of CD-R/CD-RW, Text Displays, Blue displays, etc. Now, at half volume the stero seems strong thn stock at full tilt. I am not an audiophile, but can appreciate the need for tunes/music in the car & at home (home theater). My previous car (Vette) had a stock Bose that could vibrate the mirrors w/o hesitation. When I purchase the Evo I was stupid happy about the handling but amazed by the chinz-outed stereo. I paid $440.00 installed including tax (included wiring harness/no cutting) in NJ @ 6th Ave Electronic/Totowa. You can pick it up on Ebay for ~$380.00 (can't be bothered).
