Does the metal thing with vents under the mesh serve a purpose?I took it off to see the engine, i think it looks good, but i dont want anything to happen, i just figured water or anything gets in anyways, why have it.

 

Alot of people run without it with no problems. It does have a design that is functional though.

 

i think it looks better on, but it don't hurt to take it off.

It's designed to help heat get out faster (me thinks.) Not to let cool air in.

yep, designed to creat a bit of negative presure on the vent and help the airflow going over the hood to pull the hot air out.

with aerodynamics, its all in the little bits that you cant really see.

yes, its design is to pull air from the engine bay

 

I dont think so, the way it is designed seemed to be like it draws air out of the engine bay and not in to it.
