When i bought my VIII RS i brought a K&N drop-in to the dealership to pick it up. i never drove it with the stock filter.
When i bought my IX i had the buschut Pure Power Package sitting and waithing for it when it got home. I tore it apart with 35 miles on it.

cams, headstuds & fuel pump were in the mail before I bought the car.

Well, I bought the head studs through a deadbeat vendor that wound up ripping me off. So I guess only the fuel pump & cams were in the mail.

The only thing I can see wrong with buying mods before you have your car is that if something happens (like Murphy showing his ugly head) and you are unable to purchase the car then you have needlessly spent money. I agree with a previous post and just save it for a better down payment. You will be much happier with a lower car payment.

Ive done it, thinking back i would not do it again. The money is better spent being put down on the car. The less you have to finance, the better off you are when you need to sell it. I don't see how people don't realize this yet look stupid when someone tells them they are upside down in their car...

No. I wanted experience the car I paid for before I started modding. Also to make sure there were no problems from the factory.

Pay off the car then mod it. If not, use the mod money as a downpayment.

I can understand small inexpensive mods, but don't go all out when that can be applied to your loan.

I had hks 272's,drop-in filter,mr vg, shorty antenna, shift knob, boost gauge, wideband, dual pillar, and my indash tv/dvd/cd player all about 1-2 weeks before my evo arrived.

The day I got the car, the drop in filter went on along with my gauges, antenna, and VG.Followed by the rear "lancer" emblem being removed.Ill never ride stock.

Exactly, might as well see what you got before you go changing it around.
