Trasmission Upgrade

I Am Rebuilding My 5sp. I Bought The Car From A Dealer 2 Weeks Ago And I Proceded To Autox Without Checking Fluid Levels.

My Foult, I Must Admit.

So, Here I Am. I See Many People Talking About Trasmission Upgrades, But Little Info On What The Upgrades Are.

Any Insight? Vendors That Sell Rods, Sincros Etc At A Decent Price?
How Can I Rebuild This 5sp Stronger Then It Was (besides Actually Having Sincromesh In It)?

Thanks

How is it your fault?

The dealer delivers your car with little or no transmission fluid?

Take it back and let them pay for it

i autox all morining, then drove back home (100 miles) with 95 degrees weather.
At a point, I, supposedly, might have wanted to "strech the evo legs" and pushed to about 140.
just about a couple miles. I slowed down as I was catching up with traffic, and at about 50 downshifted to overtake the car in front.
5th gear went in with a different fell to it. I tried to take it out of gear after few seconds and it would not come out.
it felt like a cable got stuck. it would move very reluctantly.
closer inspection showed there is nothing wrong with the cables.
As the shop open up the tranny, 5th gear sincro was practically melted onto the alum casing.
it had to be chiselled out.
the tranny fluid that came out was black, and simply not enough.
sucks.

And, well, Shep has a fenomenal reputation, but I belive in supporting local businesses. Also, getting to the tran of an evo is TONS of work. If the work is not done correctly, and the shop is local, I can just drive there, of be towed there.
Spep is hundreds of miles away.

So, the question of the day is, what can be done to rebuild this tran STRONGER and BETTER?

btw, shep uses stock mitsu parts. Does anyone offer better parts?
Can internal tran parts like the sincros or rods be cryotreated? Would that help?

guys, anyone? I visited TRE site, it seams they have different alternatives for rebuilding.
Given that I autox my evo, does anyone have any input on which parts to use to have my mechanic rebuild my 5 sp?

Shep, TRE, Buschur...
those seem to be the three front runners right now when it comes to trans stuff. Take some time to search the forum and read up on all three, there is a lot of info/reviews out there.

Jon Ripple of TRE has worked extensively with John Mueller, who does a lot of road racing and maintains the cars for at least one big team of Time Attack Evos, on making road race Evo transmissions last. I'd give Jon a call and ask him for recommendations on the use that you plan to put the transmission to.

+1 on the communication. When I finally got in touch with Jon at TRE he had great customer service...the tricky part was getting in touch with him.
