Short Shifters and Counter Weight Shift Knobs

Birthday is coming up and i think a short shifter or a counter weight knob would be a good addition.... Anyone know of some good products that look nice? I'd like a thread on knob but, seems impossible to find these days. will a short shifter affect the height of the knob? i like the stock position but i'd like a more metal to metal feel, i guess more solid.

For a IX the only people that I know of, besides custom fabrication, that are making short shifters is Works out of california. Only problem is they only do it in house.

Yeah my bad meant to add for 6 speed for 5 speed there are alot of options

Are you certain you don't mean for an MR 6 speed? I don't think the 5 speed's shifter changed from VIII to IX.

yea the 5 speed works shifter is a diy job. The 6 speeds are the ones that need to be done in house.

I have the Kartboy shortshifter with the Greddy counterweight shift knob. It's definitely way heavier than stock and it helps the shifts a lot. I kind of just toss the shifter into gear in a sense.

shift knob

If you like titanium aspec makes some nice weighted shift knobs. They sit a little bit lower than stock as well. For short shifters some evo owners are using the B&M short shifters.

you should do a b&m short throw and a greddy counter weight but it does get to hot in the summer.

Perrin also makes a short-throw shifter. Greddy or Razo make decent counter weight knobs. Do a search on here for any of the products mentioned and you'll find multiple threads. Read them, become informed and then make a decision.

If you want a short shifter, just get the Authority. It is a short shifter and a knob for much less than the B&M.

Does installing a short shifter increase stiffness?

A short shifter shouldn't really do anything but make the shifts shorter. Going from let's say 1.5" to get into a gear, down to only 1" of movement.
