how to be descriptive
a lot of people have problems describing what they hear or experience with their car. the following may help.
Boom - low resonant sound, like a drum roll, distant thunder or sonic BOOOM
Buzz - Low -pitched sound, like a bee, usually associated with vibrations.
chatter- a rapid, repeating high-pitched chirping sound, like a bird
Clang - A heavy sound of metal striking metal, like a Cow Bell
Click - Similiar to a clang, but with a higher pitch
Grind- an abrasive sound, like a grinding wheel of sandpaper rubbin on wook
Groan- A continuou, low pitched sound
Hiss- A continous sound, like air excaping from a tire or balloon
HUM- Continous sounds at various pitches, like wires hummin in the wind
knock - a heavy loud, repeating sound, like someone knocking on a door
ping- Similiar to a knock, only at higher pitch
roar- a deep, loud prolonged sound, like a lions roar
rumble- a low heavy continous sound like thunder

You forgot rattling, like rattlesnake.
good thread. eversince i installed 10.5 wmegan o2 car makes a chatter, groaning, knocking type noise at 1.5k rpm only, then goes away after warm up.
