awdwannabe, not sure if you realize it but 99% of EVO owners modify their EVO's beyond fixing a broken clutch and drop in filter. It would make for a very small boring class. If you read the class name it says Stock APPEARING, so to someone who isn't well informed on what an EVO might look like under the hood the car should still look "stock" to them.

I fully understand about the ratio of Evo's that are modified compared to stock. Reason being I was asking is because of the fact that I just got my 05' just barely over a week ago and the funds are limited as of right now, and I wanted to see how I and the car would fare against other Evo's that are within the same ball park as far as HP, so indeed it becomes a true drivers race. Also the fact that this is my first manual trans. car, I'd like to see what I can get this basic stocker to do. Seeing for instance I had a fun run with a buddy of mine from U.T.I. with a basically stock 05' STi and his fastest time at the track so far was a 13.05.. and I beat him by 3/4 of a car.. and all I have is the drop in. I would be thrilled if I could get this thing to dip into the 12's nearly bone stock. But... even high 12's low 13's aren't going to cut it at all in the "stock appearing" class. But maybe I'd get lucky and everyone but me would red light!! haha. I'll have to try to get off work and make it out there, it sounds like one heck of a time! Maybe I'll open up my house in Sandusky/Castalia (20 mins. from Norwalk) for those who are having a hard time finding a place to crash.. with a fee of letting me drive all your modified cars each.. j/k

But in a year or two when the funds are there I'm going with the new AMS 2.3RR engine, Buschur GT37r turbo kit, Buschur Race front mount, JUN 272's, meth. injection... etc... etc.. and I'll be hoping for 700 to the wheels on C16 (depending on what kind of dyno of course) and be playing with the big boys.
But regaurdless, it'd be good to come back home to Sandusky and get away from Chicago for a weekend so I won't have to look out my front windows every half an hour to see if my cars still there...

Don't worry, if it doesn't have a B or K series Honda motor in it, people around here aren't terribly interested in it. Do you live in the City or the burbs?

I live in the city, NW side.. at least I think that's what it would be. I'm pretty much at Montrose and Central.. pretty close to where the old Toot's ice-cream stand was. The closest suburb from me is probably Norridge which is about 2 miles west down Montrose which turns into Forest Preserve Dr.
The reason I say I keep looking out the windows is because two winters ago my fiance had her 99!!! Neon stolen right in front of her house used in a bank robbery and burnt to the ground afterwords, then about a month and a half ago her current car had the window bashed out and dashboard ripped apart in front of her dads house which is pretty much at Irving & Narragansett (sp?) just for her $40 cd player.
It's just weird coming from a small town like I'm from where you can leave your cars unlocked with the windows down and the keys in the car and not think twice about someone taking anything.

I live in Rogers Park. I drive near you every morning when I get on 90 from Foster. I'm actually thinking of moving around that area when we move shops because I want to stay in the city but be a little closer to the new place.

There is just too much good food that I can get delivered to move back out to the burbs.

Which way to you go on the 90? East or West? Just wondering since I get on it every morning going West bound at around 5:50am so I can be to U.T.I. by 6:30..

Well since this is dropping back in the pages I decided to bring it back up so everyone that hasn't seen or heard about the rescheduling will make it.

Also for the stock appearing class, is weight reduction allowed? Like no passanger seat, rear seats, and spare tire w/ jack?? or does everything have to be in?

Thanks for the bump to the thread.

Yes, full interior, full exhaust is required for every class except the Q16 and both Bracket classes.

Weight reduction is allowed but the cars must APPEAR to be complete.
