pinstriping

i bought my car and it had pinstriping done to it. my question is can it be removed without repainting my car. pin stripind is thin an over the clear.

yeah pull it off, unless its painted on, then you should have the body shop do.

dealers always do that crap! if they did it, then it should pull right off... use some heat to get it started or some gunk lifter in a can should get it started...

how does it look, wouldn't mind seeing some pics

pull it off and if you have any glue left on the car go to wal mart and get this stuff call oops. Soak a rag with it and wipe it off.

it should come off right away with no problems. although you might now want to pull it off since your car has had it on for a while. the dealer here tried to add that to my car for $1000 just to put a silly line down the side.

becareful with the oops...it strips clear coat and first coat. I tried using that on my emblem removal and now I have dull spots.....thats ok though it in line for a repaint.

i too had that damn pin strip on the side, at first i liked it then as i started to notice more evos that didnt have it on it, i was like wtf is this on my car? im not driving a regular lancer. anyways long story short after a nice wash , i called a friend over who has body shop experience he brang some liquid used for removing pin striping and what not and as we peeled it started to come right up. you still will have that shadow of it on your car, because it was on there for some time but it can only be seen in very bright light.

i read that you can remove painted painted pin stripes with easy off oven cleaner. is this safe for our weak evo paint.
