356whp/341tq then a fresh tune got me up to 384whp/360tq

I'm not complaining on the figure. The OP showed a dyno result, followed by an assumption that it is likely to be the highest, if not one of the highest green swap evo with stock engine. People replied wondering on the high figure. He did not mention anything about how much gain he has gotten from the same dyno.

Dyno results have a lot of variables, different setting on the machine, different fan (or no fan) for air flow simulation, temperature and humidity of the shop. However, I have yet to see an example where an owner of a car goes to two different shops using different types of dyno, and gets higher reading from dynojet, dynodynamics, mustang dyno than dynopack and so on. I'm not trying to argue which one is closer to a real figure, but I'm suggesting the readings are different and 'hierarchy' of the readings is almost consistant all the time if not always.

I do agree with the OP that the results are great, but I'm trying to suggest that another part of reason for such high figure is not only because of good car/good setup, but also that since it was on dynopack, it is likely be reading a figure a little higher than what seems to be more standard reading, as in from dynojet.

So my point is that another owner with 350whp on mustang dyno might be actually making as much power as the OP yet one might seem more impressive due to 'higher' figure.

well in this case his "complain" is warranted because it could change the fact that this is one of the highest output Evo with 20g-9...chasing absolute dyno numbers is a waste of time, unless we're comparing a cars that are done on the same dyno, back to back, same temperature, blah blah blah

as someone already mentioned the best way to really determine how much "power" your car is putting down is by hitting up the drag strip and do a buncha runs, then average out the trap speed (which shouldn't differ by more than 1 or 2 mph in the hands of halfway decent drivers)

Who cares how much a car makes on a dyno? If your that worried about your car being a dyno queen, I suggest you buy a Supra TT and head over to the Supra forums. They live for that crap.

I've seen over 400whp out of a WR-9 turbo on pump gas. Don't know if that's considered a 20g-9 though.

I have the same turbo and I love it. Good bang for the buck. I have not been on the dyno but it traps at 118 on pump and meth on a Evo 8 at 26 psi based on my crude road tuning.

ive got the 20G9-5 as well as a buddy of mine.... we are having a hard time getting it to reproduce better track times then our stock ix turbo did with the same mods. Its trapping a bit higher easier, but we just arent having any luck with the ET side of things. He ran an 11.8 last night... but that is .2 higher than the stock ix turbo. does anyone have a rom used with a 20g9-5 i can take a look at ? i want to compare numbers

You have the highest horsepower 20G-9-5 because you dynoed it on the rarest highest reading dyno available. Go dyno it on a Dynojet and see what it makes.

Way too much arguing in this thread about nonsense. If you want to see DYNO NUMBERS translate to TRAP SPEEDS, check out my sig.
