are you using stock 10w-20 or 20w-50 (shown in the pic). if you are sold on using this synthetic blend, you probably should get a sample analyzed at your next oil change

If youre running the 20w-50, then thats why you probably dont have the lifter tick and less blow-by.

Back on topic, the OP didn't ask what oil you use, he asked if you knew anything about Brad Penn 20/50 Racing Oil.

Yes, I do. It's a very good oil that is used in a lot of dedicated racecars. I'd not feel bad about giving it a try. 20/50 is the weight that most high HP DSMs are using for additional film strength and protection. Let it warm up when you start the car before you get on it...

I'm sure those high hp dsm's have upgraded oil systems. For a stock to mildly modified evolution, having something that thick (even when warmed up) should not be used.

That looks like something they sell at walmart. You should change that out immedatly with some mobil 1.

EDIT: Then again I've never heard of it so it could be good, but still its only synthetic blend.

I didn't run that brand oil in my evo but i did run 20w-50 oil in it and was very happy with it. I believe Buschur recommends anyone running one of his motors to run 20w-50 in them.
