Valve Tick Normal?

Is valve tick normal for stock evos? The reason I ask is cause I noticed my motor has always been kinda ticky so was my previous evo 8. Both these cars were bought off the showroom. So is this normal?

It is common on all 4G63 motors. Been common since the first evo which was called the VR4 RS. Changing to a good oil should help get rid of it temporarily, but it will come back again. It is not in the injectors either, just the sticky lifters.

You could try putting your fingers on the injectors and feeling the pulse. If it is in sync with the ticking noise then most likely its the injectors firing noise.

put your finger on the injector and you will feel the pulse...

on motor with 7k on it, there is a slim chance its accually valve tick. the injectors will sound just like a valve tick. 4g63 injectors have always been quite loud
