Whine.

Well I got this whine going on. I did the tube trick and it appears to be coming from the A/C area. I'm going to replace the serpentine belt when I find a part number. I read a little saying some people had problems with the 05s and this whine? I'll post a video of it tonight if it will help determine my problem better.

As you can tell from the idle you can only hear the motor. Rev it up some you got the whine.

sounds like one of the countless noises evos make.... i.e. nothing to worry about. enjoy all your clunks, whines and rattles cause you'll be hearing them for as long as you own your evo

Yeah it was a couple inches from the belt I'm thinking it'll quiet down when I change the belt, which it's due for.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, I had a similar whine after changing the timing belt. We even went back in a loosened it a bit since the belt was a little tight and it still does it. Don't just go and buy a serpentine belt, take yours off and start the car first to see if that is even involved...for me it wasn't.

Yeah, that belt is quite expensive. Timing hasn't been touched on it since it only has 33k miles on it. I'll just try to take the belt off and see if it is where I think it is.
