question about t-case fluids.

I have a bad T-case and it was whining real bad. So i bought a used T-case to install and while i was watching the installation i noticed that T-case oil is very thick and when my blown T-case was being drained it wasn't thick at all. And this got me thinking i had a clutch install from the dealer once and could they have put the wrong fluids in during the clutch install? Or does a blown T-case cause the oil in T-case to go very watery?... And if it was wrong fluids during installation from dealer.. is there a way i can check which oil they used? is there a record they keep on which oil they used? .... I seem to be rambling on with questions but this isn't very cheap to replace and wanted to know if it was the dealers fault.

please help...

The OEM Diaqueen LSD Gear Lube that needs to be used in the Transfer Case is very thick. You should not have a thin fluid in there.

yes.. I have seen that oem diaqueen LSD gear lube and when i drained the T-case it wasn't even close to being thick..so my question still remains .. Is there a way to check with the dealer on which oil they used? do they keep a record on which oil they used for which application?

The best thing would be to call them up and ask them what oil they use for the tcase.

Yes and no -- some dealers will bill the oil on the repair order...If diaqueen was in stalled it would have been billed...check your bill...

i can get a t-case from them if i found out that the oil they used is the wrong oil right? But even if they didnt use the oil and if it says they used oem diaqueen lsd lube.. can i take the fluid i took out from the t-case to examin it or something cuz it sure aint thick as it should be.

I honestly would get the paperwork first. See if they used the right oil... If they used some knock of brand or maybe even a different fluid for the Tcase during your clutch install (did you tell them to change the tcase fluid too?). Then talk to the manager... Your Tcase is whining really bad... Are you stock or modded?
