Drivability Issues

I recently installed a new intake, inlet hose and turbo back exhaust. It was stock before. My car now seems to stutter when I'm slowing down but still in a higher gear and under load. It happens right around 2000 rpms when I'm still pressing down on the gas gently and going up a slight hill or when I'm in 3rd/4th gear and coming to a slow stop. The car feels like it's choking out or something. It never used to do this... I have not had the car tuned yet so I am just wondering if it's maybe the air/fuel mixtures or erratic MAF readings that is causing this issue. If so, am I harming my car by driving it without a tune?

Thanks in advance!

Put your stock airbox back in and see if it takes care of it.

yea from what ive read you need to get a tune when you put an intake on, also you shouldt put an intake on until youre higher up in the whp range...i cant remember what the range was. i believe it was something like 300-350whp

+1

More importantly then getting the stock intake back on, you need to get the car tuned... that will fix your drivability issues right away. I would strongly consider getting a custom tune over a mail in tune, it's just that much better.

The IX's ECU has been redone and is supposed to be better with intakes. My friends IX isnt tuned and he has an intake and it runs fine, but not all cars are the same i guess. Id go ahead and put the stock box back on and it should run fine. When your getting ready to get tuned then put it back on.
