i have an evo 8 with manual boost controller 20psi, aem intake, with no tune. i have bought but not installed a buschur lower intercooler pipe,3 inch rmr downpipe, test pipe, and hks high power catback. i'm waiting to get a tune before installing the rest of the parts because i readv that with these kind of mods I could cause damage to the engine without a tune. My question is, with a good tune roughly what would be my whp. i want to get into the 300 range with only boltons.

 

typically a TBE/MBC/Intake car will make 300whp on a dynojet at or near sea level.



edit: BTW your car probably isn't liking the intake system without a tune, and honestly you can make very similar power with just a K&N drop in filter, when you're still at the bolt on level.

 

300whp but at what boost?

 

Install the TBE before you spend money on a tune.............

dont count on 300 I have a turbo xs ebc at 23 PSI, ic piping intake megan catback downpipe and UR test pipe turbo xs copy front mount making 290 whp.... 8's suck.

 

install the parts and get the tune. i have similar parts with a few extras and i'm getting 300 whp. check my registry if you want proof from a dyno sheet and details on my mods. my tune is pretty conservative since the evo is my daily driver. like 4TUN8 said though, your elevation/air temp/etc will play a large factor in your car's performance even with similar parts and tune. i'm sure my car won't perform exactly the same if it were in texas or anywhere else. good luck!

 

290 is close enough to 300 for me, a lot of factors.
