immobilizer help

immobilizer help

is the immobilizer in the ECU or is it it's own box?

It's stored in your ECU Rom. Go to Evo Engine Management / Tuning Forums / ECUFlash forum to read more about it. Don't do anything until you fully understand it or you could give yourself alot of head ache .

the reason i ask is because i am puttin an evo ecu in a 3rd gen eclipse and i know i need the immobilizer to go with it, and i assumed it was a different part but the person i am buying an ECU from said the immobilizer is in the ecu.

Yes, what the person told you is correct. It's in the ECU but you'll need the tactrix cable to view the rom. I don't think your key from the eclipse will work with the Evo ECU without getting the original keys that came with the Evo. I'm not familar with Eclipse ECU's do they have an Immobilizer code as well? If so then it might work, if not, then you're sort of out of luck but there is a way to by pass the immobilizer but that stuff is sort of over my head. Maybe someone that knows more can chime in.

from me :P

And my key's wont work he just needs the tactrix cable and swap his immoblizer code over or send it to a tuner to remove it.

ok, thats great info, but my car sucks, see i have a 2000, and i am unable to read or wright to the ecu.

but i working on it.
