just ordered

i just ordered the last rally red jdm bumper from gruppe s...they told me they also only have 1 graphite grey left if anyone was wondering about that

is it true the bumper wont fit with the USDM crash beam?

thats the reason i never got a jdm bumper

True. You either have to remove it or modify the existing beam.

if you get rear ended anyway that beam is only rated at 5mph anyway, i was kinda debating whether to get it or not and just said screw it and ordered it today

but if your in an accident and insurance finds out the crash beam is removed. they will most likely not cover any of the accident and could possibly drop you

risk for looks = not worth possible consequences of not having crash beam

another reason I got the ets 3" intercooler...because it fits the stock crash beam

I concur, leave it alone but if you must have a JDM rear get your bumper beam moded to fit. The cost is nothing compared to the alternative.

yea im a mechanic for the city and county of denver i can weld and all that jazz so ill be making some sort of crash beam it wont be oem but it will do its job in case

Joe I have a buddy locally that owns a bodyshop. He modifies the crash bar to fit. He did his on his evo and alot of locals aswell

There is someone on here that has made one. Not sure if there is one in Japan since they dont have all the emissions and vehicle safety requirements as we do.

japs dont have them i dont think at least i cant find an oem one from japan so im not exactly sure it wont be hard to modify the existing crash beam...

Thats true.When you bring JDM cars into the states and are able to register the car,you will have to add crash beams and what not to meet US standards.If there is one I think I will spend the extra cash to get one.

my jdm evo doesnt have a front crash beam nor i rear crash beam,what they have is some kind of metal that goes around the interior of the bumper like some kind of metal frame to give the bumper shape,i dont know if the usamodel has this behind the bumper.
