boost gauge question

boost gauge question

i bought the car with the boost gauge directly in the middle of the steering colum so i basically couldnt see the tacometer at all. i took it off (it was held on by some kinda sticky pad?) and moved it over. it wudnt stick back down so i used some thick double sided tape...but that didnt do ****. anyone have ne suggestions how i can get it to stick again?

dont screw anything!....use some hot glue..if you ever want to remove it, all you have to do is peel it off.....

Prep the surface with rubbing alcohol to remove dirt/grime. Heat up the 3M sticky tape with a hair dryer and then mount the gauge while warm. Apply pressure and voila, should stay!

JB Weld and Duct Tape!

I was reading that for those gauge pods you want to put the adhesive on the side of the steering column, not the top. its supposed to hold better there.

get a mounting bracket of some sort if you can.

I just drilled 2 small holes in the cover.
Put the 2 small bolts through and tightened....

This is the Defi Unit btw. It came with all the hardware and it looks stock.

I agree with what FedEvo said but you need to go to an autobody supply place and get the 3M double sided tape that they have. The stuff you find at Home Depot and Lowes is a joke for the most part. The autobody tape will stick like there are screws in it.

Never screw or cut anything unless you absolutely have to....

put screws in it..the best way to hold it down...3m tape is not a bad idea neither its suppose to hold up to 20 pounds or sumthin

dont use any kind of tape, inside the car it gets hot on hot days, that stuff will just get loose and melt away even. do it right and not country hick tape crap
