I have the same exact thing with my 05'. If you hit the throttle at 3k rpm in 2nd the rpms jump up along with hearing the turbo spool like a beast. Then after the rpms jump about 1k the car just seems to launch almost. This has been happening for the past 2 weeks, and has progressivly gotten worse. So my thoughts are the clutch is going. I'm at 53k, on my stock clutch and on tuesday (10-9) I'm taking it to get the clutch changed. So I'll let you know.
Just think about it.. rpms jump, turbo spools.. no or hardly any acceleration = slipping clutch.. or out of adjustment.. but mines all the way out.. so time for an upgrade

thats the same problem when your clutch goes out. your RPM go up when your trq shoot up it causes it to slip.

Start looking for a new clutch

sorry to hear it blew on you man.. you just have to take it very easy if anything like this ever happens.. no launches, half throttle or less.
Tuesday's my trip to AMS to get my clutch done... then it's break in time, then....

Clutch, you'll notice it happens much easier on higher gears/speeds
